Hopefully it will become softer with subsequent washings.

(More customer reviews)i love this crib bedding!the design is what i'd call upscale cute.not overwhelmingly cutesy and with very nice detailing and materials.the colors are very calming.my husband and i are very, very impressed with the quality of the bedding - nicely done quilting throughout that creates a nice texture, wide bow ties, substantial bumper thickness, soft cotton, flat scalloped crib skirt (not fluffy ruffles).the happy faces are adorable and because they're in different colors (purple, yellow, pink), you can draw from them to coordinate the rest of the room if you want.we do purple and green.the colors in the picture are very accurate on my laptop, so what you see is what you'll get.we got 5 pieces (bumper, pillow, skirt, blanket, sheet) and paid $200.though i generally think crib bedding is a rip off, preying on parents to be, i found this set to be a great value compared to the hundred others we've seen.we actually previously purchased a different set from Cotton Tales and though we paid a lot less, we were pretty disappointed with the quality.what a nice difference from Bacati.nice surprise that we received the set the next day because Bacati also happens to be in Houston.

(More customer reviews)I chose this bedding for my infant son.I still love the pattern and colors, but would probably not choose it again.The color scheme is very difficult to find coordinating pieces for - all baby things seem to come in pastel pink, blue, or green - none of which go with the modern color scheme of this bedding.I managed to find a couple of things that went with it, but buying things like window treatments, crib sheets, storage bins,changing pad covers, and a rug would have been MUCH easier if we had gone with a bedding set with a more traditional color palette.

Also, I really wish these items were sold as separates. For safety reasons, we did not use the bumper.The crib sheet that comes with it isn't anything special, and after 8 months, we really haven't yet gotten much use out of the blanket, either. (I hope to use the blanket more when he is a toddler.So I basically got a $200 crib skirt and paid extra for the window valance.

(More customer reviews)I really love this set!The colors are true to the picture, they are crisper in real life.The crib skirt is the same pattern as the crib bumper.The bumper has ties on the top only, and then on the ends there are ties on top and bottom.The crib sheet is pink gingham.There are a few items "quilted" onto the comforter, which is a nice touch.The material is a polyester blend, and although I haven't washed it yet, it does not feel as soft as 100% cotton would, that is the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars.There are so many patterns you can match to this set, pink gingham or green gingham, yellow or lavender solids, and butterflies, lady bugs, and flowers.I love the happy, whimsical garden theme.Overall, it is a great item for a great price!

(More customer reviews)The colors of this set are really nice and bright, and can be used for a girl or boy. The set comes with a lot of pieces that may or may not be useful to you. Personally, I wish you could buy all the pieces separately. My purchase was mainly for the pattern of the crib sheet and bed skirt, and will use the fabric from the other pieces to take apart and re-sew into other things.

Pros: Nice set for the price. Beautiful vibrant colors that can be used for both boys and girls. Easy to match with other decorations. Crib sheets are 100% cotton.

Cons: Elastic on crib sheets is only on the corners, and DOES NOT run all the way around.

*Caution... if ordering from Target Online during a free shipping promotion, make sure your final check out price includes the free shipping! (As it didn't on mine and then ended up having to make multiple calls to get it credited back!)

*I have not washed the sheets yet to test out if they shrink or not, however instructions indicate to wash in cold water which means it probably shrinks
