Stokke Xplory Basic Review

(More customer reviews)When my son was a few months old, I realized just how stressful it must have been for him to be low to the ground, facing away from me while being pushed in his stroller down a busy street. I began wishing that a stroller existed that could adjust up and down and facing/away from a parent. I was so excited to find the Xplory, that it did exist. My hunch that babies could be stressed from the typical sitting arrangement of a stroller has even been verified by academic research. I love this stroller. The biggest drawback is the price: but I considered it a nod to the ingenuity of the designers and how unique it is. This stroller stands apart from all other strollers on the market. I am very impressed by its handling, quality of materials and adaptability.

I consider the carry cot as an unjustifiable expense because it is only functional for a short period of time in a baby's life and that period is when I'm most likely to be wearing the baby on my body for additional comfort and interaction. But once a stroller is the preferred method of travel for parent and child, the Xplory cannot be surpassed.

To others who covet this stroller as much as I did, I encourage you to keep searching for a good price. I finally got mine for $700 new (although it was a previous year's model).

Chicco Ct0.6 Capri Lightweight Stroller Review

(More customer reviews)As a very compact stroller, this one is pretty good. I looked at many umbrella strollers and most did not have 5 point harnesses or aren't comfy for someone over about 5'2". Now I'm a hair under 5'8", but I wouldn't recommend this for anyone taller. My husband at 6' had to hunch over to push it. Another issue is that the wheels are pretty close together and the handles don't tilt back far enough to provide a lot of separation between your feet and the wheels. You do have to walk heel-toe if you are going to walk behind the stroller and that not only takes a little getting used to, but can be tiring because you don't use your normal walking muscles.

It has a very small basket underneath that can store some smile items, but because of the cross back support, you can't put a bag of any size under there, but it's good for small purchases. Also, while it does recline, it's not much, but more than you would see on other umbrella strollers.

Another plus is that it is significantly wider than the Jeep umbrella stroller and the other low price ones. My 3 month old looked cramped in that one and I cannot imagine her being able to use it for long. This stroller should last us for travel purposes (especially on the subway) for a couple of years.

I also like that the sunshade can be snapped to the back of the stroller or you can unsnap it and change the angle depending on where the sun is.

I recommend you take a test push of this before purchasing. They have them instock in limited colors at Babies R Us, but that's good advice for any stroller purchase.

(More customer reviews)I bought this item based on the price and colors that I needed.I kind of took a chance since the dimensions weren't listed.The fixture is 14" tall and about 9" wide.Also, the metal body isn't pink, it's white, and the crystals are pink.It comes with a long corded plug, but we split it and used it as a permanent fixture.With the 4 25 watt max bulbs it really lights up our 8x10 room nicely.We plan on putting a dimmer switch on it to have some option on the amount of light output.The bulb outlets are surrounded by bendable/adjustable metal flower petals.I gave this 4 of 5 stars b/c these are pretty sharp, and seem kind of fragile if you bent them too far or too much.That only seems to be a worry if you adjust them frequently, which I don't see why that would be the case, or if it was manhandled as you installed it.Overall this is a very cute, very pretty, very nice piece.And you just can't beat the price!We are very happy and so is our 3 year old.

BumbleRide Indie Stroller Review

(More customer reviews)After many in store and online comparisons, we are so happy with our Bumbleride Indie. We looked at many joggers- BOB's, City Mini, MacClaren's and even considered the Bugaboo. This stroller is light for a jogger, has a great basket that holds plenty of groceries, manuevers easily with one had (especially while trying to get through doorways) and handles the bumpy sidewalks of Philly great. The frame is really solid and the carriage portion is solidily constructed with lightly padded fabric, which I'm sure the little one will love when she is big enough. Using the infant seat is really easy, as it just gets belted in with the included attachment. The canopy is nice and big and between it and the infant seat canopy I can completely cover the baby if needed. The only negatives are that the cup holder is in the way of the release latch to fold down the stroller, so it takes getting use to, as does learning how to collapse the stroller. After doing it a few times though, I have it down. I find the key is to keep my foot on the brake as leverage. Also, I wish the storage pouch had a zipper, as the pump and manual fall out of it when it gets folded down. It doesn't fold down to be the most compact stroller, but no joggers do, and if you really need it to be compact you can remove the wheels to help. I think this is a great jogger for the money. I have yet to use it as a jogger, as my baby is only 2 months, but it seems like it will be great.

Graco MetroLite Stroller Review

(More customer reviews)I'm going to start off on the color b/c if it weren't for someone elses review I would have thought I was getting a brown and pinkish colored stroller.I don't think any description I read in regards to this stroller told the colors.
Either way, Pink is NOT the case. The fabric colors are dark brown, cream & a lighter burnt orange. The pattern on the fabric (the seat part) are giraffes. My husband and I love the color & the designs we are excited its not another pink thing to add to the other pink stuff we have for our daughter. Its unique & a bit vintage looking.
I really wanted a Graco full size stroller & would have bought one if they had one with fabric I liked and weren't all travel systems, we already had a car seat. I went back and forth between this one & some others that were actually higher priced & had better reviews & less features. I came back to Graco b/c I have had a stroller from them in the past & this stroller had everything I wanted. There is a great info video on youtube in regards to the metrolite stroller. That video was basically what made me finally decide on this stroller. I read a lot of complaints in regards to pushing/steering this stroller. My husband said it best by saying you have to push it like a lawn mower. So if that is a down fall it's the only one in my opinion.
This stroller is affordable, light weight, stylish & has all of the great features you would get with a regular sized stroller, such as cup holder, storage compartment, adjustable handles, full reclining seat for infant/newborn, large basket good for shopping bags or diaper bag & it folds up nicely (there are more features than these, this is just some of them). I think that your getting more than your paying for, I have found strollers with far less features, priced for much more money & I am so happy that I choose this one!

GRACO NEEDS TO MAKE IT SO YOU CAN GET ALL FULL SIZED STROLLERS IN ANY DESIGN OF FABRIC. HUNTING THROUGH ALL OF THEIR DIFFERENT PRODUCTS SOLD THROUGH DIFFERENT SELLERS WAS RIDICULOUS!!!

Philips AVENT Digital Video Baby Monitor, White Review

(More customer reviews)My wife and I love this monitor.We have replaced a Summer Infant Day & Night Baby Video Monitor with 5" Screen - White with Philips Avent.The sound and picture are great, and there is no interference like we had with Summer.Both day and night video feeds are very clear, and the design of the baby and that parent units is clean and modern.

There are some nice features like night lights on the baby unit, and the ability to have baby unit start playing lullabies by pressing a button on the parent unit the.The parent unit can be set to turn the screen off automatically to save battery unless the baby starts making sounds.The camera is not fixed to the camera stand, but held by a magnet, so it can be easily adjusted in any direction, and it can be used without the AC adapter with AAA batteries.Philips manual tells you not to use rechargeable batteries because the baby unit does not have a charging function, but I do not see why one could not use low self-discharge AAAs like Eneloops.

This baby monitor is covered by Philips's Full 2-year Warranty, which I found pleasantly surprising because a couple of the Philips DVD players I own were only warranteed for 90 days and I expected the warranty to be no longer than a year.I noticed just two minor issues that may not even be a problem for others.

1. For my setup, positioning the camera was a little difficult.We like to see the whole crib from above, so the camera needed to be setup on the shelf above and to the left of the crib.The way the Philips camera and stand are designed, I had to put a wedge under the back of the camera stand so that the camera points where I need it to point.I could not simply rotate the camera down far enough because then the lens would be covered by the stand (see pictures).I did not have this problem with the Summer's camera design.

2. The night vision infrared lights on the baby unit glow red.They are low intensity, but still visible and distracting.The Summer baby monitor also had night vision, but the night vision LEDs did not emit any visible spectrum light.

While reading reviews for other baby monitors, I noticed low ratings because of interference.The performance of the monitor will depend on how "polluted" the frequency band on which it operates at your location.For example, we have absolutely no problems with the interference with this Philips Avent Baby Monitor even though my wireless (b/g) router is located in the same room as the parent unit.However, we did have some interference issues with the Summer baby monitor although baby and parent units were located in the same spots where Philips is now.At the same time, Summer baby monitor worked without any interference when we took the parent unit to the kitchen.The point is that you won't know unless you try.

If you are looking for a baby monitor, I recommend that you consider Philips Avent Baby Monitor.

(More customer reviews)Okay, I'm somewhat exaggerating, but this pillow is the BEST.Unlike the snoogle or other C-shaped pillows, this one is contoured to fit a pregnant woman's body.The rectangular part at the top serves as a regular pillow for your head, and the long part of it can go either behind you, down your back, or in front of you, depending on which way you lie.The long part is also contoured with a little "lip" that either fits perfectly into the small of your back or right above the pregnant belly, depending on which way you're facing.The curved part at the bottom goes between your thighs to keep your back aligned properly, and the curly little "tail" part goes under your body, either right above your hips or right at the top of your belly.Either way, your belly is cushioned and "cuddled" very comfortably.

I found out two years ago that I have no disc material in between my lowest vertebrae and am prone to back problems.I have been able to avoid back problems, after first throwing my back out very painfully two years ago, with physical therapy and exercise.But when I got pregnant, I was worried about how it would affect my back as I gained weight, since I'd had back pain during my first pregnancy.I started having back pain while sleeping about 8 weeks ago - but the first night I used this pillow (at 24 weeks), I had NO BACK PAIN at all!I wish I'd bought it sooner!

Also, unlike the snoogle, this product has a cover that has a long zipper on the longest side, so it is no problem to remove the cover and wash it.I've heard complaints about the cover for the snoogle, that it fits on like a sleeve and is therefore hard to remove to wash.

One more thing - I ordered this to be shipped regularly and the manufacturer delivered it to me the next day, so I was able to use it right away.I am very happy with this product.I may use it even after pregnancy!

After a few uses it becomes noisy, and by that I mean it clicks and squeeks. And this sound is coming from who knows where since the handle assembly itself is not easily taken apart without breaking it. It was extremely difficult to extract much, if any milk with this flimsy pump since most of my time was spent putting the thing back together. I do not recommend the purchase or attempted use of this product. It may be priced attractively but it is not worth the frustration.

(More customer reviews)For our first kid back in mid 2007, we succumbed to the BPA paranoia and dumped our beloved Avent (Polycarbonate) bottles for these expensive Born Free BPA-free Polyether Sulphone bottles.And they have served us faithfully for two years (our 2 year old is still using them).But I curse every time I have to wash the bottles, with their two extra complicated parts (compared to the Avent bottles).In Sept 2009, we had our second child, and we went back to Avent.Since every other maker of bottles has a line of BPA-free bottles, we no longer have to accept such a complicated bottle with so many extra parts.So this time around, we went straight back to Avent's new Polypropylene (PPE) BPA-free bottles.No more Born Free for us!
